Zilker Metropolitan Park occupies a broad area south of Lady Bird Lake and organises lawns, mature trees, paths, water and institutions within a large open landscape.
The lawns create long green horizons with skyline views. Mature trees define edges and provide shade beside routes and waterways.
Barton Creek and Barton Springs add natural water and connect the park with Austin’s karst geology. Gardens, cultural centres and science spaces extend the diversity of the site.
