The trail follows the shores of Lady Bird Lake and links parks, bridges, neighbourhoods and public spaces. Paved sections, boardwalks and natural surfaces create a highly continuous linear route.
Proximity to the water reveals reflections, birds, boats and changes in riparian vegetation. Bridges add elevated viewpoints and connect both banks.
The skyline appears and disappears between trees, curves and structures. The trail combines mobility, landscape and urban ecology. Its distinctive quality lies in offering an almost continuous reading of central Austin from the edge of the transformed river.
