Antalya faces the Mediterranean beneath the Taurus Mountains and is surrounded by cliffs, beaches and ancient cities. The modern city is large and active, while its historic heart preserves narrow streets, Ottoman houses and Roman remains.

Cappadocia lies in central Anatolia and contains one of Turkey’s most distinctive landscapes. Pale valleys, cones, ravines and formations known as fairy chimneys were shaped by volcanic eruptions and millions of years of erosion.

Istanbul stretches across both sides of the Bosphorus between Europe and Asia, around the Golden Horn and Sea of Marmara. Mosques, churches, palaces, markets, ferries and residential districts create a city of immense historical and human density.
