What to expect
Check-out from M’Hamid El Ghizlane, this private trek gradually leads you to Erg Zahar — one of the most unspoilt and spectacular large dunes in the Draa Valley. Here, no fixed camps: every night is climbed in a wild site chosen by your Guide for its beauty, silence, history, no mass tourism. Along the way, the landscape changes: isolated oases, ancient villages buried by sand, stony reg, forgotten caravan tracks. The camels carry food and equipment. You walk at your own pace. At the summit of Erg Zahar, the 360° panorama of the Sahara and the Algerian mountains on the horizon is one of the most striking in the entire region. The wind sings in the sand — it's the dune talking. On the third day, return in 4×4 through the desert tracks to M'Hamid: a way to see the territory differently, by the wide rocky spaces and hamadas. Accessible to everyone.
