What to expect
Discover the hidden Christian villages of Sotome on a private Lucky Taxi tour, combining coastal scenery, World Cultural Heritage sites, and local culture linked to the film Silence. Visit historic villages such as Shitsu and Ono with a knowledgeable guide, exploring churches and learning about the region’s unique history. Enjoy a hands-on Kankoro mochi–making experience using locally grown sweet potatoes, with freshly made mochi to taste and take home, followed by a special Kankoro mochi–themed Sotome-style lunch. The tour also includes a visit to the Shusaku Endo Literary Museum, offering insight into the author of Silence and sweeping ocean views, and a stop at the Sotome Sunset Hill Roadside Station for local produce and popular regional souvenirs. Vehicles: Transportation is provided by Standard Taxi (up to 2 guests), Alphard (up to 4 guests), or Jumbo Taxi (up to 8 guests). If an Alphard is unavailable, a Jumbo Taxi will be arranged.
