What to expect
Most Old Pune walks tick off the same landmarks and end at a generic snack stall. Ours doesn't. You'll taste a modak — Lord Ganesh's mythological favourite sweet — at the foot of Dagdusheth Halwai temple, eaten where it actually belongs. You'll step inside Bhausaheb Rangari Bhawan, the quiet lane where India's public Ganesh festival began in 1892 — a piece of national history almost no other tour shows you. You'll try a mastani at Gujjar Mastani, one of the original houses of the dessert Pune invented. Your guide is Pune-born, not flown in from elsewhere. Small group, never more than 8 — so the lanes feel like a local showing you their city, not a tour bus making a stop.
