Once a powerful political and ceremonial center (12th–15th centuries), Iximché played a key role during the Spanish Conquest and is considered the first capital of Guatemala. You will walk through the site’s four ceremonial plazas, surrounded by temples, structures reaching up to 10 meters high, and two Maya ball courts.
