Ethiopia

Addis Ababa extends across hills more than two thousand metres above sea level. Avenues, minibuses, markets, embassies and residential districts form a city without one centre, where the vegetation of Entoto often appears above the horizon. Its name means “new flower”, and the capital consolidated in the late nineteenth century around the court of Menelik II and Empress Taytu.
