What to expect
Your ship docks at Port Said and Cairo is about 3 hours south, so this is a long, full day built to get you to the pyramids and back to your cabin without stress. Your private Egyptologist meets you at the port and drives you to the Giza Plateau, where you stand beneath the Great Pyramid of Khufu, 2.3 million stone blocks and 4,500 years old, and meet the Great Sphinx. After lunch you visit the Egyptian Museum and its halls of pharaonic treasure. Then it is back to Port Said in time to reboard. It is a 12-to-14-hour day with real driving, run privately so the pace is yours and the timing is matched to your ship.
