Busan is South Korea’s great southern port, spread between bays, beaches and mountains separating one district from another. Its geography prevents it feeling like a compact centre: every area has a different relationship with sea, trade and urban life.

Jeju lies south of the Korean peninsula and was created by volcanic processes forming mountains, lava tubes, black coasts and fertile soils. The island has a distinctive identity shaped by farming, fishing, rural communities and a sometimes painful history.

A family visit to Seoul should be organised by area, age and realistic travel time, while respecting the context of South Korea.
