Sun and Moon Pagodas

The Sun and Moon Pagodas rise from Shan Lake and create one of central Guilin’s most recognisable night scenes. The golden toned Sun Pagoda and the lighter Moon Pagoda reflect across the water and take on a different presence when the illumination begins. Although their forms evoke traditional architecture, both are modern reconstructions incorporated into the restoration of the city’s lake landscape.
