What to expect
Kaiping is well-known for the Diaolou and old villages in Guangdong Province. This day tour will let you explore the UNESCO site with a local guide. Diaolou in Chinese, were listed on UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2007. First built in the early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), these multi-storied houses were built as small fortresses and watch towers for protection. After lunch, head to the Liyuan Garden. Built in 1926, this garden holds a combination of traditional Chinese landscaping as well as western architectural style. Then, pay a visit to the Chi Kan Old Town. With its traditional architecture and beautiful views, the town is now a popular place for movie and television drama shoots.
