What to expect
Tiananmen Square is a must visit attraction and political center in Beijing. Tiananmen Square is located on Chang'an Avenue in Dongcheng District, Beijing. It is the heart of Beijing and the largest city center square in the world. It covers an area of 44 hectares, with an area of 440000 square meters, and can accommodate one million people for grand gatherings. In the center of the square stands the Monument to the People's Heroes and the solemn Mao Zedong Memorial Hall. To the west of the square is the Great Hall of the People, to the east are the Museum of Chinese Revolution and the Museum of Chinese History, and to the south are two ancient city towers built in the 14th century - Zhengyangmen and Qianmen Arrow Tower. The entire square is magnificent, symmetrical, integrated, and majestic. Tiananmen Square requires advance reservation and cannot be booked on the same day.
