What to expect

With me you will explore the heart of Tirana on a guided walking tour through its most iconic landmarks! Starting from Skanderbeg Square, discover Ottoman heritage, modern architecture, and hidden stories as you pass by Et'hem Bey Mosque, Tirana Castle, Saint Paul's Cathedral, the Pyramid, Rinia Park, House of Leaves, and the Resurrection of Christ Cathedral before returning to the main square. And of course, we end the tour at the same site: Skanderbeg Square! Additional charges and time will be needed for all interested in visiting the museums.

Et'hem Bey Mosque

Et'hem Bey Mosque stands at one corner of Skanderbeg Square beside the Clock Tower. It is small compared with the modern buildings around it, but its paintings and history make it one of Tirana’s most important monuments.

Rinia Park

Rinia Park occupies a central position between Skanderbeg Square and the main boulevard. Its name means “youth”, and it was created during the socialist period as a green space for a city beginning to grow rapidly.

Skanderbeg Square

Skanderbeg Square is Tirana’s great civic centre. Within a few hundred metres it brings together Ottoman buildings, Italian architecture, monuments from the communist period and contemporary transformations. At the centre stands the equestrian statue of Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, the fifteenth century nobleman who became a national hero through his resistance to the Ottoman Empire.

Tirana Castle

Tirana Castle does not appear today as a complete fortress. What survives are sections of wall integrated into the city centre beside a pedestrian street filled with restaurants and shops.
