Bunk'Art 2

Bunk'Art 2 stands beside Skanderbeg Square beneath an administrative building in central Tirana. Its entrance reproduces the shape of one of the small bunkers still found across Albania, but the route leads into a genuine shelter built for the Ministry of the Interior.

Rinia Park

Rinia Park occupies a central position between Skanderbeg Square and the main boulevard. Its name means “youth”, and it was created during the socialist period as a green space for a city beginning to grow rapidly.

Skanderbeg Square

Skanderbeg Square is Tirana’s great civic centre. Within a few hundred metres it brings together Ottoman buildings, Italian architecture, monuments from the communist period and contemporary transformations. At the centre stands the equestrian statue of Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, the fifteenth century nobleman who became a national hero through his resistance to the Ottoman Empire.

Tanners Bridge

Tanners' Bridge Tanners’ Bridge is a small Ottoman stone bridge that has survived in the middle of modern Tirana. Its arch, uneven paving and pedestrian scale make it possible to imagine a city that existed long before avenues and cars.
